Happy New Year!

Sutherland Shire Libraries wishes our community a happy and prosperous 2007. We thought we'd take this opportunity to let you know about some of the things we are planning for the coming year.

We are introducing a new course on Digital Photography and the Internet at the Library in the next month or so as part of our Internet Training program. The Digital Photography course is designed to demystify the link between digital cameras, computers and the Internet. The details are still being finalised but if you are interested contact us and we will send you a brochure for the Term 1 program as soon as it is available. Our regular Introduction to the Internet courses will be returning in February.

We are investigating the establishment of a Wireless Hotspot. You will be able to connect to the Internet from your own wi-fi enabled laptop at Sutherland Library. No definite date yet but keep an eye out for it in a couple of months.

We are currently redesigning our Historical Photograph Search. Did you know that you can search our collection of historical photographs of the Sutherland Shire? The redesign should be complete by the end of January and although the changes are relatively slight it will hopefully improve photo searching.

Of course all our regular activities and events will be returning including our School Holiday Activities throughout January, the annual book sale in May and Children's Book Week in August.

Thank you for your support in 2006 and we hope to see you in the Sutherland Shire Libraries in 2007.
